Tracking charge, spin and light polarization in space & time in emerging semiconductors

GDCh-Colloquium - Prof. Dr. Sascha Feldmann, Laboratory for Energy Materials (LEM), École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL)

Solution-processable semiconductors such as halide perovskites and certain molecules will be promising for next-generation spin-optoelectronic applications. However, the governing factors of spin and light polarization in these materials—and the influence of chirality—are not yet fully understood. In this talk, the speaker will provide an overview of recent efforts to elucidate spin-optoelectronic performance using time-, space- and polarization-resolved spectroscopy and microscopy, and will discuss how these insights may enhance the performance of solar cells and other energy-conversion applications.
