Food and Drink in the Library

To help keep the library clean, well maintained and a pleasant place to study and work for everyone, the following rules apply:

CIP Pool

Food and drink are not permitted. This rule applies without exception.

Library and Other Areas

✅ Permitted

• Non-alcoholic drinks in sealed containers
• Cold food in sealed containers

❌ Not Permitted

• Open drinks (e.g. in glasses, mugs or cups without a lid)
• Alcoholic beverages

Conference Rooms and Computer Lab

In addition to study workstations, the chemistry library features two smaller conference rooms and a CIP pool. All these rooms may be booked by students and faculty for small-scale events. Reservations can be made in person at the library circulation desk, by phone at extension -3281, or via email at chem-bib(at)uni-koeln(dot)de. When submitting a reservation request, please always include the title of the event and the number of participants.

When no events are taking place in the aforementioned rooms, you are welcome to use them as workspaces. However, please pay attention to the notices posted on the doors: for reserved events, the rooms must be vacated in good time!
